5 October 2022 The responses of faith institutions to abuse and neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults in their care will be examined by the Royal Commission of Inquiry during a public hearing from 13 to 20 October.

This Minute sets out directions for the Royal Commission of Inquiry’s upcoming public hearing into the institutional responses of Faith-Based institutions to abuse in Faith-based care (the hearing).

Under section 17 of the Inquiries Act 2013, the Inquiry can designate a person or group as a core participant in the Inquiry.

Section 14 of the Inquiries Act 2013 states that in making a decision as to the procedure of an inquiry, or in making a finding that is adverse to any person, the inquiry must comply with the principles of natural justice.
